How to Evaluate a South American Travel Package/Tour Group Have you ever wanted to travel to South America, but weren’t sure if a package deal was the right option for you? There are a vast majority of travel companies who cater to travelers looking to explore the beauties of South America, but choosing just one can be a daunting task. Here are five tips to help you decide which South American travel package is right for you. 1. Evaluate Yourself Before Traveling to South America There are quite a few questions you should ask yourself and anyone else that you plan on traveling with to South America, before even looking for a destination. * Do you prefer roughing it, or staying in an all-inclusive resort? * What is your fitness level? How many hours a day can, or do you want to be active? * Do you prefer hot humidity (jungle), or cold thin air (mountainous peaks)? * Would you prefer traveling alone in South America, or with others? * How long are you looking to travel? * How much money are you able to spend? * Will you require medications, or medical attention, during your trip? * What other languages can you speak? Are you willing to learn before you leave? 2. Research South American Travel Options Learn as much as you can about the South American area you are looking to travel to. Read maps, guide books, listen to local music, find online reviews, learn the language and talk to others who have visited the area. Armed with this information, you’ll have a better idea as to what specific areas, activities, and times of year to visit. 3. Choose Your South American Travel Destination You should now have a list of things that you want, and don’t want, while traveling to South America, based on the list of questions in section #1. Armed with this information, you can now research several destinations. Talk to a travel agent, friends, or grab a guide book. While looking at destinations, keep in mind the following questions: * How much do you want to fit into your trip? Do you want to see all of the sights and sounds, or are you looking for something more remote, or relaxing? * Is there a certain dream you are looking to fulfill while traveling to South America? 4. Evaluate Your South American Traveling Options You’ve found a South American destination, and you’ve located a few travel agencies, tour guides or tour packages that fulfill your needs. But how do you decide which one is right for you? The following questions should help to narrow down the options: * Look at what all is included in the price of the tour. Just because it’s listed as all inclusive, doesn’t mean things like taxes, alcohol, food/snacks, travel expenses or entrance fees or transfers are included. * Ask for references from other travelers to South America. * What are the refund, booking, cancellation and pre-payment policies? ---------------------------------- JPS, Internet Marketing
